Underground Supper Club in West End Tower
Vanderbilt University Campus Dining held its third “Underground Supper Club” on the last Thursday of March, hosting a formal dinner in West End Tower with a handcrafted menu executed by University Executive Chef, Jordan Rogers.
Ten students, chosen at random, were invited to dine on the eighteenth floor the West End Tower, seated around the table in the Board of Trust conference room.
Each student was served a four-course meal, beginning with a colorful charcuterie spread of local meats and cheese, then ending with a deconstructed apple pie with handmade ice cream.
The main entrée of the night was a coffee-rubbed tri-tip steak, fresh from our local partner, BrassTown Beef, served with fondant potatoes, globe carrots, haricot verts, and blue cheese foam.
Jill Stratton, Vanderbilt’s Assistant Provost for Residential Education and Associate Dean for Residential Colleges, joined the dinner as the esteemed guest and resident of the West End Tower.
The Underground Supper Club is a relatively new tradition to Vanderbilt Campus Dining. Established in 2020, the invitation-only event features an intimate seated dinner prepared by Chef Jordan Rogers, hosted in unique locations around campus. The dinner series aims to both showcase Campus Dining’s culinary talent, while also fostering a deeper sense of community through this shared dining experience.
