Sous Chef Chili Throwdown

This January 30th, Vanderbilt Campus Dining will showcase the culinary creativity of its talented team with the inaugural Sous Chef Chili Throwdown. The event will take place at Commons Dining Hall, beginning at 4:00 p.m., and will feature five teams composed of sous chefs and cooks from dining halls across campus.  

Attendees are invited to sample the chili creations and cast their votes to crown the winner. Polling will be open to all participants who sample dishes.  

  • E. Bronson Ingram Dining Hall
    Sous Chef Amber Bills will present a vegan white bean and wild mushroom chili served with sweet potato cornbread. 
  • Commons Dining Hall
    Sous Chefs Louis and Ameria will offer a comforting white chicken chili accompanied by smoked gouda mac & cheese. 
  • Hendrix Dining Hall
    Chef Ryan will serve up a hearty smoked brisket chili sure to delight barbecue lovers. 
  • Zeppos Dining Hall
    Sous Chef Carla and Delisa will prepare flavorful Moroccan lamb and turkey chili paired with sweet potato jalapeño cornbread. 
  • Rand Dining Hall
    Sous Chefs Rodney and Seth will offer A classic Texas-style chili complemented by jalapeño cornbread.
